Highlands Book Week

This April, we celebrated our Highlands Book week across all three stages of the school.
The students were encouraged to bring in their favourite stories so they could be shared with the classes. In Infants, it was lovely to see parents volunteering to come and read to classes. Our Primary students were challenged to find the most interesting (and safe) place to be ´Caught´ reading. We had entries with students reading while on horseback, skiing and even while skateboarding. The highlight of the week was on Friday when all the students (and teachers) came dressed as different book characters.
In Secondary, students had the chance to swap books they no longer wanted or had already read; a fantastic example of recycling and reusing.
What a wonderful week and an exciting way to celebrate the love of reading and the appreciation of a good book.
