The Highlands House System is a traditional feature of British schools and is similar to the college system at universities. The famous Bishop Cotton School, founded on 28 July 1859, was one of the first schools in the world to initiate and implement the idea of the house system, as a means of organizing games and sports in schools as part of their daily co-curricular activities.

Our Highlands House System operates as a competition between houses throughout the school year. Points are awarded or deducted for each house’s activities, leading to a winning house being designated at the end of the school year. All types of activities are assessed, ranging from attitude, punctuality, respect, and obedience to students’ academic achievement, among others.
The House System is divided into four houses representing the four saints of the United Kingdom.
The students created each house’s crest, flag, motto, values, and song, making the project their own from the beginning.
